Is there a way to disconnect one view in the drawing from its model and explode (make a snapshot) into a 2D lines?

It can be done in eDrawings.

You can save the drawing as .dwg. That should solve your purpose.

Tomas,
Window select your view, then select "Copy to DWGeditor" from the Edit pull-down menu. Next, paste into DWGeditor, select all again, then Ctrl C, back to SW and Ctrl V.
Couple of notes/tips here:
- Prior to starting the process start DWGeditor
- Be sure to create an "empty view and activate it when pasting back to SW
It is a 4 Step process that Pro/E does in 1 Step, it's called "Snapshot".
Thanks to everybody who responded to this issue.
