Can anyone out there help with this one?
I want to create a swept cut along a helical path. The tricky part is that the outer diameter of the helix is not constant. Imagine a helix with the OD in an hourglass shape. That is about what I am trying to do.
Any ideas? (Still on 2005).

Thanks! That was exactly what I was trying to do.
To the others that contacted me directly: thank you. It was the helical path that I was having troubles with. John's example is excellent!
One thing ProE has over Solidworks is the ability to easily do a variable profile helix. With this trick in the toolbox one can accomplish the same thing.
