Any familiar with aPriori estimating software for 3D model?. If so what are the pros and cons that you see?

When I was working in a shop that just did prismatic parts I would get a part count and then use 1-2 hours per part as the average cost. This included part, some assembly and drawings. On average it wasn't too bad.

When working on curvy stuff or complex drawings of large assemblies where you are likely to run into problems your guess is as good as mine.

There is a lot to do with the skill of the user, the speed of the hardware and whether last minute changes are included.

There is also a lot to do with whether you are designing or just drawing up something that is already well defined. For example, I you have to go out and find some previously unknown part, that may take longer than the model.

If you can find software to do this I would be surprised.
