I have a 30X60X3 plastic plate.I want it can be fold to tangle.can you give me any good suggestion to design the live hinge dimensions? thanks! snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com

Tom,

You're talking millimeters,, right ???

By plate, do you mean injection molded box of some type ????

Polypropylene, and polyethylene are the two best materials for a living hinge (polypro being better IMO). There's a few tricks involved both from the design, and proccess ends.

Could you be a little more specific ???

Meanwhile, here's a link (thanks to Bing at AMC) with some pretty good design info.

Mark, thanks so much. It is mm size. In fact, the hinger is just for assembly. The plate should be fold into a U-shape before it is installed. Can i mail you my final request in Solidworks files?

thanks.
