Mega Yacht Builder looking for experienced mechanical arrangement engineer.

Job Description: Plan and design mechanical systems. Utilize 2-D and

3-D CAD to arrange and integrate mechanical systems into the overall vessel design. Coordinate mechanical design with head engineer and mechanical dept head from a manufacturing approach, utilizing standard concepts, practices, and procedures within mechanical application. Will require using outside resources, previous experiences and professional judgment to plan and accomplish departmental goals. Reports and works through design guidelines as communicated by department head or supervisor. Must effectively communicate design to trade supervisors through drawings and personal interaction.. Will work in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Rhino 3-D in addition to Microsoft Excel and Access. Use methods and abilities in a configuration management process.

Job Skills and Ability Requirements: Able to utilize and apply standard marine practices from ABYC, ABS, USCG as well as other accepted marine standards. Able to do research, development, cost estimates for labor and materials, create design schemes and do atypical tasks and physical layout to prove design. Physical layout may require carrying construction materials and tools to various locations. Hands on operational experience is a plus. Materials and equipment that may need to be lifted and/or carried may weigh up to 55 pounds. Able to schedule and prioritize tasks in a timely manner fully supporting production or executive level needs. Be computer literate and have a working knowledge in the software's listed: SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2002, Rhino 3-D, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook.
