2004: A UP-Free Year

Dec 21, 2003 1 Replies

Suggestion: Instead of posting complaint after complaint on RMR about UP's "tax" on model trains, if you feel strongly about UP's policy on UP branded products, why not do something about it?

In all of 2004:

  1. Manufacturer's should make whatever road named products they normally wish to make
  2. Modelers should buy whatever road named products please them
  3. But at public displays (NTrak, Bend Track, One Trak, etc) put nothing on the rails that is specifically UP. Run SP, MoPac, etc. all you want, just nothing in Armor Yellow.

4.  Display a sign:  This layout proudly does NOT display any UP Branded models due to the Union Pacific licensing policy concerning model trains

Just a thought.

Dear sirs, Does this refer to a 12-month moratorium on coin-operated restrooms? I am all for it. (Sorry.) Cordially yours, Gerard P.
