Info on Tulsa GATS?

I am moving to Tulsa due to my job. Since they don't have basements there, I am going to liquidate my Marx, MTH, K-Line, Lionel collection. Does anybody have experience with the GATS in Tulsa? Good sales or waste of time. Either post or e-mail me. All info will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob

Just my opinion but GATS in Tulsa is just about dead. They don't even come to Oklahoma City anymore. Tulsa has a good amount of interest in Lionel and MTH with a good shop on Peoria. They also have a Green Country train show but I do not know how much Lionel etc sells there. I think it is basically HO/N. You will find HO and especially N to be big in Tulsa, at least bigger than the larger scales. There is a total N scale train shop on Lewis named Challenger N Scale. Outlying communities in OK have decent train shows, One in Dewey, just about 50 miles north of Tulsa and one in Stillwater which is largely O but I doubt the sales are great. Oklahoma City has an annual Christmas train show at the Fairgrounds the first weekend of December each year. It is two days and draws a huge number of dealers from different states and about 15,000 paid admissions. Sales are usually good. Wichita has the Air Capital show in the spring, April I think and it is good show, mostly HO/N but a lot of O three rail too. The TTOS has a show, small one, in March in Del City each year. Outside of that the TCA has a annual meet in Plano TX each year which is pretty good. There is also a Plano TX Rail show, all scales, every January at the Plano Convention Center, very good show but hard to get dealer tables at. They have waiting list I hear. If you want tables at the OKC show in Dec you better contact Ed Burch at Whislte Stop trains on Britton Road in Oklahoma CIty as they book up about this time of year and sell out quickly. Hope I have been of some help. Welcome to Oklahoma. John OKC
