Owning a Ferrari ain't all is cracked up to be, what with $11,000 timing belt replacement. I just sold it last week. I didn't drive it that much anyway: only 10,000 miles in 10 years. I think a mini-cooper convertible is in my future.
What takes more time away from trains are the guitars, skiing, travel, and video production for my daughter's school (I'm only two plays behind right now).

Beautiful presentation and layout. Really. Well done.

Not started yet. Still trying to design something I like. The building I have in the backyard for it is about 16' x 44', just under
700 square feet. See link below.
The old one was in an 18' x 19' L-shaped room, most of which was a room addition behind the carport storage shed. The new one will be in the 12' x
18' portion of that room, after the room gets rebuilt following some serious rain damage (yes, Virginia, it really does rain in Phoenix!). Fortunately, all of the locomotives, cars, buildings, etc. had already been boxed up and moved into the house; I started planning last year for a new layout and better storage space out there, and actually had about 80% of the layout gone when the rains came.HO scale, point to point switching layout with a drop-in bridge to allow continuous running when the mood strikes.
Room addition behind the carport, attached to the house but separate from the living quarters. Separate heating/cooling, even a separate electrical sub-panel for it.
Attached to the house.
Pictures in future weeks/months as things progress at

Is that really a separate free-standing layout in the center of the room, or is it a penisula connected to the rest of the layout??
In the shape of a J, with the longer side 20', the bottom 18' and the smaller side 10' (The depth is 4')

'O' Gauge. 32' x 8'. It's actually 2 4x8s connected by 2 2x8s. Nothing fancy but I can run long trains.
I can't get more that 32' x 4' or 24' x 8' out of those 4 boards? Keith
