Well at 50 tons I suppose that what you would call a stationary; stationary engine
Well, if I were a millionaire, I'd buy it. I will be interested to hear what happens to it. It's got to be the most desirable engine I've seen for sale.
I wonder if it's really from Stormont.

Deep joy. I'm a great fan of cold start Blackstones. One of my pieces of literature is a contemporary Blackstone catalogue showing large installlations around the world. This would have been a good sample within it -- must check to see if it's there, given it's provenance.
Had to go to Stormont for a British Airways Board meeting during the worst of the troubles. About 8 of us, & 50-odd local security types!. The building is of considerable size, & could certainly have used an engine of this size. I'd be surprised if someone claimed a Stormont background without proof -- there would still be folk around who would remember it, given it was only moved in 1973.
The joy of eBay -- at least we can all look at the pix & dream ....
We could lobby the lottery on behalf of Internal Fire -- would look good there alongside the big Tangye :-)

This engine is not shown in the Spring Injection catalogue to which I referred.
The nearest is another Irish installation with one 220hp 4 cyl lump, two 110bhp twins & a 55hp single. Think I'll jump on the ferry .......
BTW, not sure, but seem to recall when I lived in the US a few years a very early Otto made considerable money -- rather more than this.
