I found an energy saving device on eBay today. The spec is a bit over my head. That's not surprising as I'm only a mechanical engineer and don't understand all the complicated electrical terminology. I know there's some here who do, what do you think?

Yeah right.. I think it's called SPAM!
Not from me it's not. Have a look at the item, it's worth a smile.

That "all directions Exaltation" sounds like it might be fun to try!

I think it's all twaddle - but it _could_ be a notch filter, or a phase shifter, designed to prevent harmonics being transmitted back down the mains. A capacitative load will cause the phase shift, and inductive load will provide some filtering (if the circuit is correctly tuned). That helps the energy suppliers, not the users! (I was an EMC Test engineer in a previous life, and became conversant with the wonders of the IEC-555 series of standards...)
I think it is wonderful. It is amazing what technology can do these days.
