230 Tonnes of submarine fore end, on a 48 wheel transporter. Equivalent height to a four storey house, it took 1/2 hour to move about 2kms.

Brings it home just how big the subs are, does it not?

Nice trailer, just the thing for a few engines. I assume the tow car was equally impressive.

John

The trailer is the power , engines are slung under neath they come in

250, 500 and 1000 ton spec saw them in the hyunida ship yard in korea thye move entire sections of ships around on them, still dosent stop the koreans from riding bikes and driving cars under the over hanging load :-)

Do you know if they adjustable for width? The design makes it look as if they could be. A fascinating bit of kit.

Gyppo

J D I dont htink they are adjustable, they just tend to center the weight the best they can and block the edges up as in the photo, some of the ship sections I have seen can over hang by about 10- 15 meters each edge, I bet they have had some near misses , check out the website I might order one later :-)

From video I have seen they come as bolt on elements so you could have them side by side or end to end. If you look in the centre of the truck you will see a cab for the driver.
