Although not strictly railway in subject, Stothert & Pitt did make many rail mounted steam cranes for use all around the world including those for the Great Western and London & South Western. They also provided many cranes that were used in unloading railway wagons at ports and goods yards across the globe.
This new book is packed with photos of Stothert & Pitt cranes and includes a great deal of railway related subject matter, not least a couple of great aerial photos of the company's premises alongside the remains of the Somerset & Dorset in Bath in 1975. The book is packed with pics of equipment that could happily be filed under the prototype for everything dept, and the railways feature in about 50% of them in some way. (mostly wagons being unloaded, but some pics of rail mounted cranes too) All the pics are B&W.
