If the structure is less than say 15 years old and you have a long run of brickwork with no expansion joints then you may be right.
Private garages are a prime example as the bricks are left exposed to the elements ( normally ) than the rest of the building and are mostly single skin.

That's interesting. It's roughly a tenth of a percent. It's too little for cross grain wood expansion and too much for wood expansion with the grain. Both are humidity related. I wonder if what you're seeing could be temperature related?

I chuckled at that as well. Here in the inland northwest of the US, our humidity in summer is often in the 10-20 percent range. All our precip is in the winter and much of it is white :-).
But if John's humidity is fairly constant, it doesn't matter what it is.

I you do intend to 'fix' the problem keep your 'fix' flexible.
If the expansion has only been noticed in the past few weeks then several factors may be involved.
