Mashima Motor Spares ?

Anyone know if it's possible to get spares for Mashima Electric Motors ? The reason I ask is I recently bought a kit built Westward Drummond T9 4-4-0 fitted with what looks like a M24-F motor. When I tried running performance was sluggish so I decided to add some lubricant, some of which seems to have found it's way on to the commutator. End result, much sparking, stalling and smoke !

Now I've unscrewed the electrical connections to the commutator, removed the brushes and cleaned the copper contacts on the rotating part. Trouble is the brushes are looking well worn down ( so much so that one just fell out of it's retainer when I attempted to put the commutator back together, & I had to fish it out as it was trapped inside the motor frame ).

So I'm really looking for some new brushes to reassemble the motor. Or failing that, a brand new motor ( but that's more expensive and means taking the worm gear off and unsoldering the electrical pick-up leads ).

Who handles Mashima in the UK and are replacement brushes available separately ?

Cheers, I will give them a call tomorrow - will also ask their advice if it's a good idea to lubricate Tenshodo 'Spuds' as one of mine is sounding a bit noisy as if its' dried out. But as I've found out, the lubricant I'm using is very runny, so will apply it via a screwdriver this time !

Suggest sewing machine oil, applied with a fine piece of wire. A little lubricant goes a long way.

Don't know if there is an official place, but Branchlines (suggested earlier) is your best bet.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if its a new motor rather than spares. They are under £14.
