I am about to start electrofrying my points. Although I have DCC I actually rather like the Hornby style sliding contact switches inna frame stylee, so I intend to use those driving mostly Peco point motors. I intend to build a mimic diagram for each frame using LEDs; I'm sure that'll be easier if I run it off 12V DC rather than 16V AC, which is not a problem.
I don't want to get into wiring in position switches unless there's a reely reely good reason for it.
So I need a simple solid-state memory circuit for the mimics. Yes, I could do it with relays (said the B.Eng Electrical[1]) but solid state is better.
My electronics skills are seriously rusty, so can anyone recommend a source for a suitable circuit diagram please, preferably using a few LSIs for the memory to get the component count down?
Thanks.
