Has anyone managed to buy or produce 25Kv EMUs in N? I am planning a Beds/Northants railway and would love to include either 321s or even 317s but I can't seem to find any body sets or appropriate chassis. I don't mind some DIY but I don't want to use the DMU chassis from the Grafar 101 or
170s!
TIA Luke

Hi Luke,
I suggest you have a look at the Electra website! We have just released a complete kit for the Class 325 EMU and will be following up with a 321 next year. The kits are unmotorised (see below) but come with decals, bogies, wheels and couplings.
On the LMR theme, we are also planning the Class 317/1 which worked Euston-Northampton services before the 321s and also the Class 304, 310 and
312 EMUs. Also Blue-era Manchester Pullmans (or should that be Pullmen?)
Powering them is a thorny subject. The best option will be the Flexichass from Taylor Precision Models

This will work around a Bachman US power unit and will be configurable to 20m or 23m length stock. It's not quite ready yet, though.
There are also chassis from Greenmax and kato that almost fit the bill.
If you can get hold of one the Farish GWR railcar is a good match and should be re-released next year with a new chassis based around the 170.

Wouldn't arcing be a massive problem? It'd keep fingers off the layout though!

LOL! Specially designed to keep little the darling's fingers off the layouts at exhibitions!
