NVR Model Railway Exhibition

This one day exhibition to be held next Sunday [11th] is the first to be held at the preserved railway site. There will be steam services running all day to and from Peterborough over the seven mile link and the usual evening Steaming Blues event will be held in the big marquee on the Wansford site. With a good mix of traders, a number of nice layouts attending the model exhibition and decent weather in the offing, it looks like being a good day.

However with the usual vagaries of Sods Law at its worse, the A47 links onto the A1 have been closed in both directions. Lord knows why, other than to make use of hordes of road cones, as little work seems to be actually going on. The 'official' detour marked out routing traffic onto the A1 south will not easily allow direct access to Wansford and the NVR depot. If you are travelling along the A47 from either direction DO NOT follow the official diversions. Please follow our small Model Railway Exhibition signs which will accurately direct visitors off the A47 and through Wansford village to cross the river, the A1 bridge and into the site. Visitors approaching via the A1 through the road works from the north or from the south will not be affected and can just follow the brown NVR signs.
