OT Full size info required

Hi All, Sorry to have to post this to those not interested, but I'm trying- after pages of trawling on Goggle- to find out what the common weight of a MK 1 Suburban coach would be, like the Carmine models by Bachmann?

This info is for our guide book, but no one seems to know the answer at the moment. I suspect it is around the 31-32 tons mark, but would like confirmation...

Ian Allan's British Railway Coaches states that they are mostly 29t

The exceptions are : Long wheelbase Composite (C), Brake Second (BS), Second (S) and Second Open Non-Gangwayed (SO NG) - 30t. Short wheelbase Second Open Non-Gangwayed (SO NG) - 28t

Long wheelbase is 63'5" while short wheelbase is 56'11".

Hope this helps.

Can I take it that the SLO (Second Lavatory Open) is 29t then?

You mean "moin der gep"? (in the days before electronic recordings)

If the BVE simulation of the Glasgow Subway is accurate, the station announcements and "doors are closing" warnings are in a Scots accent.

That could indicate a lack of imagination or ingenuity, or even compliance :-)

If people can do it in an aeroplane loo (to qualify for membership in the Mile High Club) I'm sure they could find room on a train.

Larger than teh back seat of a standard mini? :-)

Managed that once - just to prove it was possible :-)
