Has anyone used 3 link scale couplings in N gauge.
Yes, but I believe they are still muttering to themselves about it and not expected to be released for a while.
Cheers, Simon
I can't see scale link couplings in 4mm let alone N-gauge :o)

Maybe you need new glasses. ;-)
I specs so.
Not seen it in N. Have seen it on 2mm Finescale layouts. eg. Midsomer Norton (exhibited occaisionally) uses three links on its long rakes of mineral wagons, though uses other couplings where shunting occurs.
Even know someone who exhibitied a layout with shunting using 3-links for a while. However, he caved in, and went to Alex Jackson's when he discovered that nobody else would shunt the layout !
For vehicles with longer buffer shanks, the MFK coupling is a simulated screw coupling, which can be operated by a hand held magnet. Unfortunately, the loops are too long for steam era UK rolling stock (though one could ask the supplier to etch some shorter links). No idea about whether they work on modern UK outline stuff; perhaps I should try one day.

Didn't one of the UK model railway mags recently have a feature on how to make you own 3-link couplings in N-scale? Can't remember which though.
John.
Yes, it is the latest copy of BRM May issue. I sometimes struggle with 7mm ones, so good luck.

John,
Indeed there is - one of the current ones.
Describes making the hooks out of plastic (!!) and overlooks the availability of etched ones.
Sooner him than me!

I have new glasses for reading but can't see anything else with them on :o)
