Sharman Wheels

Just picked this up in an EGroup

Hello to everyone, > >Over the last month or so there have been a number of comments regarding the

availiability of Sharman Wheels, hopefully the following press release will relieve the fears that some people were expressing via various of the Egroups.

>Contact details follow the press release. > > >PRESS RELEASE > > >SHARMAN WHEELS > > >With effect from the 13th August 2003 David Stapleton Engineering ( DSE ) has

purchased from A.Hodgson the entire business (included all tooling and machinery, together with any stock available at the time, and intellectual and manufacturing rights for all items under the Sharman Wheels and Flexichas product ranges) trading as SHARMAN WHEELS.

>Moving a machining and injection moulding facility from North West Wales to

East Anglia is not something that can be done over a weekend and for this reason we beg forgiveness and consideration from all concerned.

>It is our intention to bring back the full range into production and whilst we

have not had the time to thoroughly examine the Sharman tooling we anticipate that we will be in a position to produce some new stock for sale within six to eight weeks, however, please allow us a some leeway if we are a little over enthusiastic.

>Those of you who have seen the wheels produced by DSE for specialist groups,

will know what we can produce on NEW tooling.

>For those of you who do not know the David Stapleton Eng. name here is a very

brief resume.

>In the early 1980s a requirement was noticed for specialist machining in the

electronics industry. A chance discusion led to move into architectural model making (imagine a 10% model of the "tree" structure of Stansted airport in the dining room) as well as the production of aids for the disabled. This helped to force the move to a 1300 sq. ft industrial unit. Additional space and 3 phase power allowed expansion with larger machinery and tool making facilities. The acquisition of Mercury Models Ltd. and many of the Micro-Mold tools allowed us to produce a comprehensive range of model aircraft accessories sold under the Micro-Mold brand.

>We also provide a commercial toolmaking and moulding service and manufacture a

wide range of components for other industries.

>For the last few years we have moulded components for C&L Finescale and have > >re-tooled and produced the 3mm Societies range of finescale wheels. > >David Stapleton FSMAE > >14th August 2003 > > > >Sharman Wheels can be contacted at
