Well I had a Gaugemaster one, and I guess it worked to a certain extent but I still needed to clean the rails now and again. The general consensus of opinion I have experienced from friends is that they are not worth the hassle.
I know for a fact that the gaugemaster one played havoc with Lima wheels, they are brass and accumulated a layer of gunk. THe track cleaner made it worse on Lima wheels, to the extent that they look like they have traction tyres on them after only 30 to 45 minutes of running after a thorough clean!
You might be netter off saving your dosh for a new loco or coaches!
