They do still exist but in a cobbled up form. I changed ISP about a year ago and I did a hasty move of the site to a temporary place until I got my business domain name changed, and I haven't done much with it since.

I also have to confess that Newton St.James is in the process of being stripped down and rebuilt. It was my first Scale7 layout and I had made a few design decisions which were not really working out the way I had intended and I was getting a bit uncomfortable about continuing on with the consequences.

So one board has been stripped of all track and the chairs and rail salvaged for further use. A second layout is just about to be started, but will be on the smaller 4' x 2' baseboards used for the Timesaver layout - that's getting the hammer as well since I have found out the hard way that operating a puzzle type layout gets a bit wearing after a short while. I'll build a third 4 x 2 board and the new layout will be 12 x 2, and a bit more portable than the original Newton St.James boards. The trackwork will also be less complex to give me half a chance of getting something running with my restricted spare time these days. In fact, the original Newton boards might well become the base for a D&E layout in S scale.

I've often used this and the Newton St. James pages on baseboard construction plus the timesaver page as examples on plywood basebords in our discussions in the Danish model railway newsgroup news:dk.fritid.jernbaner.model.

You might want to contact Dick Ganderton who is the source of the idea for all my efforts. I don't think Dick has a web page as such, but has a text description of his methods which I know he has offered to send to people interested in making lightweight baseboards

I might even start another web page, although that might be courting fate :-)
