I have read that it is possible to join aluminum and steel via a soldering or brazing technique. Can anyone out there shed light on this? TIA Bob S.

Low temp zinc alloy "miracle rods can do it, but not with much strength. In industry it is done with explosively welded transition plates. Steel on one side and aluminum on the other.
