Am I choosing the right electrode??

I just finished cutting all the steel for three equipment stands, all to be on casters. (24" DiAcro Shear, 24" DiAcro finger brake and Jet HN-16 notcher.)

You can see two of the designs here:

I am fabricating out of 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.188-in. square steel tubing. All new metal. (Overkill, I know.) My JET 7x12 horizontal bandsaw did yeoman service today.

My plan is to tack with 6011 (or TIG if it is too damn cold outside), and run my beads with 7014. All sticks 1/8-in. diam.

Before I begin, any feedback??

Thanks,

Spencer (in NH, where it is a tad chilly)

Sounds fine. Run your machine around 110 - 120 amps.
