Arc welder w/ TIG torch

I have an Dayton AC/DC 250A arc welder with a high frequency arc stabilizer an air-cooled TIG torch. I would like to find a way to add a foot pedal to control the power while welding. Is there any product out there for this or is there any way to make my own?

If a remote option isn't built into the machine then the only other option is a foot pedal that activates a bicycle cable mechanism that turns the dial on the front of the machine

What's the model number on your welder? How old is it?

The machine is maybe 8 yrs old. Its been a great arc welder. The model number on the box is 3Z564A and the model number for the high frequency unit is 3AC01.

If I had to go with the mechanism described below, then I guess I wouldn't need to "lock" the setting.

Thanks for the help all.

you would figure there would be a way to rig up a pedal (based on full output of the main machine) like a sewing machine. would probably need some monster caps (batteries?)....
