Powermax45 Plasma Cutter

Has anyone bought/used a Hypertherm Powermax45 and care to give a report?

It looks like what I'm looking for, but everything looks good.

Have a great day.

From what I remember the Powermax 45 is an older Transformer based machine, as in, BIG and Heavy. Still supported for parts, and you can retrofit a newer torch to get better electrode life.

I shouldn't have been so obtuse.

This time around the Powermax 45 is Hypertherm's "new" machine to replace a Powermax 600.

I'm really wondering if this machine is really new and improved, or just a new way to cut costs using old tuna cans and hockey tape.

Thanks again!

Have a great day!

If it is a NEW hypertherm machine, then it is the bleeding edge of the cutting edge of technology. I doubt NASA has anything sexier.

Hypertherm is the top plasma cutter company in business today, and they are an employee owned company. The owners got so sick of buyout rumours sweeping through the company, and disrupting production, that they sold controlling interest to the employees.

Hypertherm shares some technology and production lines with Miller, but not their best stuff.

Thanks, I may give it a try. I didn't know they were employee owned.
