Target Acquired !

Just had an interesting conversation with a former coworker and friend . The local property management businesses are screaming for AC security devices ... at a price quite a bit higher than I was planning on charging . Looks like the profit margin will be better than I had hoped !

Thanks ! I suspected there was a market , my conversation with John has confirmed it . It appears the demand is greater than I had thought . Dammit , this is gonna end up killin' my plan to stick it to my former employer by drawing unemployment for an extended period of time . Oh well , I never was very good at layin' around on my ass . 'Sides , the (umemployment benefit) pay sucks , it's like about half of my previous take-home .

Well, I'm sure that it will be a little while before you're actually paid for welding stuff. What with making contacts, submitting bids, fabricating, installing, billing, (sometime later) getting paid, & finally cashing the check. Until you're paid, it's all tentative, right?, it's not income. Especially if there's not an actual written contract.

Check the rules - you might be able to get the unemployment for longer than you expect. And don't forget - rules are meant to be stretched. Put yourself in the same frame of mind as a tax preparer .

I have some folks take the a 3% 10 day discount, nice for my cash flow and their credit ratings.

But it is very smart to agree to payment terms before sale, I always ask, and if their terms are more than 30, NO SALE!

Late payers (not all), just get kicked outta the shop.

I don't do big stuff so I don't have to negotiate pay as you go.
