I picked up a uniweld acetylene torch at a tag sale some time ago. I just tried it last night and it works well. I know these are used by plumbers but what use as a metal worker. It does put out a nice flame with very good heat. I was heating and bend some small steel with it. It came with 2 of the 18? cylinders and a bunch of other tools. I paid $20.00 I was thinking that maybe I can get a small oxygen cylinder to have a more portable setup than what I currently have. I also was given one of the small medical oxygen cylinders is there any way to fit a welding regulator to it?

What your torch can do depends on model and tips.
Trade the medical cylinder for welding O2 cylinder at gas supplier/welding dealer. Might have to pay a little to get bigger cylinder.
Wayne, If its an air/acetylene torch, it won't work with O2. These were used by plumbers to sweat copper pipe. I had a couple that I bought at auctions for the same prices. Wish I had kept one for grins, but my garage is too full as it is. There are adapters available to abdapt small acetylene cylinders for larger regulators, but Prestlite pioneered the air/acet. outfits and they also make a nice little regulaotr. Still available through Esab dealers.
