Welder coming?

Don't know if my package will get here or not. I just did a UPS track and at 9:00 AM today it was in Raleigh, NC with the following notation:

"RECEIVER REFUSED DAMAGED PACKAGE"

Don't know if we got another damaged package or if somehow the "receiver" viewed the one that was picked up from here yesterday. :-(

I guess I'll know in a few hours when UPS doesn't come -- or when Amazon.Com notifies me of alternate plans.

It really appears -- at least to me -- that Hobart needs to double box the welders, if they don't go further than that. Perhaps they also need a quality assurance program that demands the labels be put on RIGHT SIDE UP.

Will let you know when/if I get the welder in good condition. :-)

sounds as though the package tracking #'s have gotten mixed up, you would be well advised to call and talk to UPS rep and get (at least the tracking #'s) straight

You're right. I gave them a call and after misreading the tracking number to them someone picked up! He checked and said it probably was a result of two packages that looked alike crossing paths on the same day -- one going out and the other in. Anyway, he told me that I'd get a call (? from the driver) within an hour to arrange to have the package delivered. Not sure if he has it with him or he'll just call and tell me it'll be tomorrow.

Thanks for reminding me. I sometimes see "arrival scan" and "departure scan" so I wasn't sure if a "receiver" was on hand to "accept" or "reject" the packages at their site based on the package condition.

I just got a call from UPS who said that the DRIVER refused the package this morning because it was damaged worse than the one I sent back yesterday. (He may not be able to tell the exact condition of either one without opening the package. However, I told the lady that I'd take his word for it. He should be able to judge it pretty well.)

Now, to see if Amazon.Com is going to be as nice as they were the first two times! I told the UPS lady that I'd be telling Amazon.Com that I DID NOT see the package, but the driver judged it's condition from the condition of the box which was worse than the previous one.

I also told her I may not be as understanding if I were making my living with the welder instead of being a hobbyist! ;-)
