Wow, a thousand words that, basically, said that the AMA isn't responsible for anything.
He also doesn't seem to have a very good grasp of WHY the membership was starting to tail off. Not a very good thing to admit as the leader of the organization!

Don't know! Here it is 2004 and DB is still in office. Something worked to keep him there!

A good portion of the reason has been evident in the last couple of elections where any time there was a serious threat to one of the good ole boys, they would make sure to limit the candidates so that the incumbents would not be challenged.
It looks like a change may be in the offing.
