Red, you are not a member of the AMAD7 list which IS restricted to D7 members only. And you were asked to leave the site when the restriction was imposed. Now for all that received a copy of this here is my answer.

My response to Mr. Oberdieck: Information for all.

  1. I set the District VII e-mail group up for Bill Oberdieck since he claimed not to know how (and apparantly didn't have anyone in his district that could or would do it).
  2. I turned the ownership of the site over to his designated moderator, Brent Bruns.
  3. As site owner, Bret Bruns can terminate any subscriber that Mr. Oberdieck wants removed from the list.
  4. The list has only 26 subscribers (including myself ) out of 13,000+ members, probably due to item 5.
  5. VP Oberdieck never promoted the site in his District VII report in MA.
  6. Many District sites have subscribers from outside the district - Modelers interested in what is happening in other districts in addition their own. I personally subscribe to a number of them.
  7. This should give AMA members a pretty good idea of Mr. Oberdieck's desire for "communication" within the AMA in spite of the following statements on his campaign page. "During my tenure, I have established an open door 24/7 policy and web site to encourage communication between me, the clubs and the members."

"Encourage open communications with the general membership."

  1. Mr. Oberdieck has declined an invitation to participate in open forum discussions on RC Universe AMA candidates forum. Some suspect however that he may be lurking there under a pseudonym.

Well, Mr. Oberdieck fixed that "communication" problem. Take a look at his "newly updated district vii site" and see how "open" it is. :-) "Its much more informative and allows for more activity." as long as it meets Mr. Oberdieck's censorship criteria and subscription requirements. And some think DB has some dictatorial traits.

The AMA snipped-for-privacy@yahoogroups.com forum is still operational as of this posting.

Oberdieck counters: The AMA snipped-for-privacy@yahoogroups.com has now been "terminated" per Mr. Oberdieck's instruction.

Lets set the record straight.

1) yes it is true Red S volunteered to set up the D7 site. 2) yes that is true also. 3) yes, 4) true there are only 26 members. But not because of 5) 5) Red, evidently you don't read well, especially D7 columns.both sites have been listed. [can anyone find a referance to AMA snipped-for-privacy@yahoogroups.com in his D7 MA column?] This is an example of Red's tactics in mudslinging.Red did the same thing to D5 VP Jim McNeill before McNeills passing. [Most everyone is aware by now of what McNeill stuck us with in his appointment of a successor - they should also be aware of who was on the nominating committee that allowed her to be listed as the incumbent] 6) the site was purposely set up do D7 members so they could have there own site,so that it wouldn't get cluttered up with tripe from folks like Red. 7) It appears Dave Mathewson doesn't care who he associates with if he has to rely on campaigners like Red and a few others that have attacked me in print. Red, you're right,What you see is what you'll get 8) True, I never accepted for the simple reason that it would serve no purpose on a bias forum, and especially with posters like mudslinger, Red. Dave Mathewson, is this your idea of a reported clean campaign? I hope not it could get worse. And I really see no need for it.

Red,

Though I agree with your basic premise, that Bill Oberdieck is not the best choice available. I feel it advisable to inform you that you are sounding more and more like an AMA version of Ted Kennedy and John Kerry! With a little Howard Dean thrown in.

Your fanaticism is quite obvious and it can't help your cause or that of the AMA! Like you said, what you see is what you get and if you are what we get with the AMA? I'll continue to renegade thank you!

If what I'm doing to inform AMA members about the candidates, above and beyond the pabulum they feed us in the short "vote for me" articles in MA, is keeping you out of the AMA then I'm sure many AMA members on this list feel they are indebted to me. And if they knew the real you they would probably en masse recommend me for the AMA Hall of Fame.

red, don't flatter yourself, people on this list are capable of making informed choices. personally, the arrogance of your comment is enough for me to discount anything you might have to offer.

Hey Red, I am not on the list but I feel I am indebted you as long as this keeps Mr. or Mrs. C.O. Jones out of the AMA

How about this then Red? How about you simply state that you hate everyone who disagrees with you? Especially if they're right!

The Scholefield mantra is quite simple and obvious. It starts out "I hate...." and you fill in any name you wish. McNeil, Brown, Oberdieck, etc, etc. You're a broken record! Predictable! Get off it! Get a life!

I've not been impressed with B.O.'s skills either. And I don't think he would do the AMA much good. But at the same time, I've not been very impressed with the skills employed by Red. And I drop him in the same bucket of contribution in which I place B.O., DB and a host of others. And before Red or anyone else asks! Yes! I could do better. But no! I won't offer a second time!

Is that right? Methinks NOT if you don't get up when you get knocked down. Was there not some old cliche among boxers like "Everyone has a plan until they get hit." If you are so good then make it known with actions rather than brags. I been knocked down several times. I will be back again. There's a good year ahead that ain't even been touched yet.

Give CO a break, its hard to develop a believable resume when you keep switching identities*. :-) I think he is referring to the last time he offered to run Muncie, giving up his important high level "Washington" post.

  • this does have on advantage however, you can quit the hobby, (serves everyone right! I'll show 'em.) and bounce back under another nom de plume.

Still looking for someone new to hate Red? Or are you hoping for someone familiar?

The difference between us Red is I don't NEED the AMA. I can live without it. Can you?

You sure wouldn't know it from reading this newsgroup as you seem incapable of passing an AMA thread without jumping in and opening up your yap.

I'll discuss religion with people too. But that doesn't mean I buy into it! Think about it!

It is a sacred trust passed on to him by Kevin Kline. Ever notice that the appearance of C. O. Jones was coincident with Kline's disappearance? Same MO, same demeanor in his posts, same tired bashing of the AMA and its members. Did you know that as active in modeling that C. O. Jones claims to be, that not one person has ever come forward to verify his existence, much less any real contribution to the hobby. Aside from his role as a scab on this newsgroup one could deduce that denigration of the AMA and members IS the extent of his modeling hobby. I doubt if his life would have any meaning if it were not for people on this newsgroup he thinks he can irritate. He certainly doesn't have the fortitude to act in this manner in a real life situation, hence the security of his keyboard gives him his pitiful sense of personal fulfillment. I expect that someday, the rock that he lives under, like Kline's, will be uncovered and he will be exposed for what he truly is . . . an insufferable blow-hard shunned by any modelers he comes in personal contact with. His perception that he is irritating us is sad. He can't differentiate between being irritating and being pitied.

Gee Red! You'd almost be funny if you weren't so pathetic. And any AMA member bashing I do I learned all from you. Or have you forgotten your many rants? McNeil! Brannum! Kline! And others!

And I see you're still on this Kline kick! Still haven't found a room? Or has he dumped you? Probably for someone who still has all their own teeth.

And no one I know has bothered to come forward and verify your existence either. Though DB did have a few interesting comments to say about you. Been canned form any magazines lately?
