I bought a used plane and need to patch some holes in the wing covering. Is there any way I can determine what type of covering is on it now (monokote, ultracoat), or will a patch made from monokote stick to any type?
Thanks

You just don`t want to use a patch that will require enough heat to stick the patch but melt the original. Use a low heat material if in doubt. Also, take a look at the surface and compare color and smoothness and surface tension. The lower heat coverings generally are more pliable..
