Hobby-Lobby $2.5 shipping world wide is a trap

I order a little brushless motor from hobby-lobby. I confirmed with hobby-lobby that the little brushless motor should fit in a 4x4x4 box. According to the advertisment on the web the shipping charge should be $2.5. Today I receive the invoice and I found that the shipping is $7.00 instead of $2.5. How can we thrust a company like that? Next time when you place an order, don't thrust the advertistment on the web. It can be a big trap!

in the first place, you should be bitching to THEM not to us. They are usually a fairly reliable company but like any company being run by people, they do make mistakes, and they will usually correct those mistakes if you bring it to their attention.

in the second place, You should NEVER "thrust" anyone TRUST is ok though

I've ordered several things from Hobby Lobby (and will again), and always been satisfied with the price, quality, and terms of sale. As another poster suggested, take your gripe to Hobby Lobby. Don't attack them like you did here, but simply ask them what happened. You might find out it was an honest mistake. It's usually people who want something for nothing who are unhappy.

Did you email Hobby Lobby about the difference? These are some stand up guys from all my dealings with them and I suspect the time and effort put into this message, sent to Hobby Lobby, would have had a refund for you by now.

I really get sick of hearing guys like you attack someone with posts like this instead of taking it to the source.

I've been dealing with Hobby-Lobby both mail order and at the store counter for close to 20 years now and have always been treated very well. They have gone the extra mile in some cases to insure my satisfaction , and I have had others tell me the same thing. Why don't you give them a call instead of attacking them here.

Did you specify 'standard ground' when you placed the order ? It does say on their site that you must specify 'standard ground ' to get the

2.50 shipping. Maybe it was your mistake , and if it was their mistake I'm sure they will make it right if you contact them.

From their web site:

SHIPPING CHARGES FOR USA ORDERS: Orders paid by Credit Card or Check: shipped on the ground (not by air) to USA addresses - $7.99 per order.

4x4x4 Shipping: If your order is less than $250 and will fit in our 4"x4"x4" box, we will ship your order anywhere in the world for $2.50!

Select "Standard Ground" as your shipping choice and we will do the rest!

Me too. One day I mentioned this to the sales person I was talking too. He asked where I saw the pricing. It was a few years back, but I think it was a Tower Hobby ad in Model Airplane News. I gave him the issue and page number info and they matched the price.

Why not bitch here Bob? How are you going to find out if others are having trouble from this company as well? As surely if you call up = Hobby- Lobby they will lie through their teeth about others having problems. They do so to protect their job! It is pretty sad, isn't it? And virtually all companies does this.

Cheers!

Because people make mistakes, and companies are made up of people. You give them a chance to correct their mistake, and if they don't, THEN you bring it up publically.

It's just common courtesy.

That is not `sure' at all.

Not in my experience. In my experience, with the companies I've dealt with buying R/C stuff, few mistakes are made, and the mistakes that are made are either 1) my mistake, or 2) corrected immediately. (And sometimes, the companies will even correct my own mistakes.)

In fact, I can only think of one case where I bought something online and I had any sort of real problem that they wouldn't resolve. (I ordered a CPU, and they lied and lied and were unreachable and lied and lied and lied) and I never got the CPU and finally had to reverse the charges on my card.

I did once order stuff from target.com and they somehow tripled my order so I ended up with like 12 boxes being delivered to my home. Kinda shocked my wife, but they took care of it with little hassle. And this one was probably my fault, sort of -- I probably hit the `Finalize Order' button three times, though in theory the system should be smarter than that.

I've bought stuff from Hobby Lobby too, and never had a problem with them, so I can't talk about how they resolve problems. But I have no reason to believe that they're dishonest about it.

-snip-

Because you should give them a chance to correct the mistake first. If they're good people they'll jump right on it and maybe even correct their process. If they're bad people then you won't make a bit of difference, but you won't hurt anything.

Then you can either post "Hobby-Lobby screwed up and made it good" or "Hobby-Lobby is a bunch of xxxxx".
