It's a damn shame...

For over ten years now, I've helped modelers all over the world with trim schemes for their models, trailers, cars, trucks and whatever....

And I've had a ball doing it.... until now...

I've always prided myself on the fact that modelers can be trusted, and had a policy of shipping my products up front, and letting the user pay after he saw what he got for his money... Never had a problem; never a complaint............

Well, I finally got bit... Some may say I've been asking for it, and they may be correct...

The best part is, this fellow had me make a couple of jobs for him before he stung me... I don't want to mention a name just yet, because his actions have gone to the proper people to handle this type of deadbeat.

He may have gotten me for a bit of cash, but in a short time this guy won't be able to buy a stick of chewing gum on credit...... I hope he thinks it was worth the money he scammed me for, cause his day is coming...

But I always bragged that I'd never been stiffed by a modeler...

Y'know what, folks.. As far as I'm concerned, I've STILL never been stiffed by a modeler. This guy ain't a modeler.

And he SURE ain't a man........

I'm STILL gonna ship up front.... True modelers ARE honorable people... And in over ten years of service to the sport, I've STILL never been stiffed by a modeler.

I'll not let one twit ruin a great record.

Bill, Have a gander at the Thomas Shannon thread for the name of another who claimed to be a modeler.

Well said Bill.

I know exactly how you feel. It's not the money, it's the feeling you have been betrayed by a friend.

You should out the little twerp. That would serve him right! :P

Bob

You hit the nail on the head, Bob......

Bill

Bill, you and I have certainly had our differences, however when a person trusts modelers to pay bills, well h_ll, he can't be all bad. OTOH when I owned a Hobby Shop back in Mt. Prospect, IL in the '70s I got my lesson a long time ago. As a modeler I had never heard of modelers stealing, writing bad checks, etc. But they did. Shoplifting, stealing, bad checks, etc. were every week and these were from *friend* customers, not just the kids that just wanted to see if they could. One of my main reasons for leaving the business was the fact that with the big rush of new RCers in those days, the old feeling of total trust for modelers was a thing of the past. You are so lucky that you have had a very different experience.

Thanks, Horrace...

The honest truth is I do this mainly for the pleasure I get from helping others, and the tremendous kick I get when I see my stuff in the field. It buys me a jug of fuel and a glo-plug now and again, but that's about it...

I just attended a warbird fly-in with the New Orleans MAC, and about a third of the planes flying had graphics done by moi... I thought that was cool...

I haven't had a chance to crank an engine in about a year, but things are coming around now where I may be able to get back to commiting aviation mo' regular...

Cheers,

Bill

Yep, theres a bad egg in every crowd. You do a heck of a job Bill, I've got your graphics and several others at our field. I wouldn't have an ounce of problem waiting a few extra days. I know when I received my order from you I was shocked I received it so quick. Thanks, Phil

p.s. for those who haven't d> For over ten years now, I've helped modelers all over the world with trim
