which news reader do you use...?

I tried Free and did not care for it... Very slow among other problems.

While looking for a good reader, I discovered M$ Entourage, which came with M$ Office. It is easy to use and fast, so I use it for reading news boards and to handle my email.

Isn't the one that is part of Outlook Express used by many? That's the only one I have used for a long time.

I used Outlook Express for quite a while but the local ISP had problems and sometimes the I couldn't get the rec.models.rc.air group.

Then I found the Google newsgroup and consider it superior to the OE newsgroup.

Beware, Mozilla had a key logger embedded in their web browser and I caught them at it. Many others must have to, because they put up a webpage saying that that was how they improved their products.

I was running Kaspersky's anti-virus and web blocker programs, which caught the Mozilla key logger and directed me to Mozillas whining justification website.

Folks, key loggers are key loggers, for whatever reason. I was pissed and I removed all of their software from my computer. Never again.

I'd like to see a link to "Mozillas whining justification website." I have never heard this allegation before and I simply don't believe it. A quick search of google turned up absolutely no other complaints such as yours.

Been using Agent for years. I like it better than anything else I've tried .

Despite unsubstantiated claims of a "key logger", I've used Mozilla for over a year now with no problems. I've used both the straight Mozilla browser with email client and Thunderbird (email only) with no problems on all 4 of my machines and none of my antispyware has said anything about a key logger on any of them. I change antispyware software every so often and scan religiously so if a keylogger were to be employed, something would have found it by now. Actually, since I went with Giant (now Microsoft) antispyware and Javacools Spyware Guard and Spy Ware Blaster, I've been spyware free for sometime. I scan every now and again with Spybot as a backup as well. About all that shows up in any of my scans are tracking cookies which are deleted immediately. BTW, Netscape and Mozilla are the same thing.

They are NOT unsubstantiated. Get a copy of Kaspersky's set of computer cleaning programs and see for yourself. The Kaspersky's software that I am referring to comes with System Mechanic 5 Pro. There is a trial version that they will let you download for free. It includes the Kaspersky software.

I think there's been a misunderstanding. Can you provide *any* independent verification that the keylogger Kaspersky found came from/with Mozilla?

Hmm-- I use System Mechanic 5 Pro. I also use Thunderbird and Firefox. None of the scans I have done with System Mechanic ever turned up any key loggers in Firefox. Just my personal experience.

All I have to give you is my word. I admit that I'm not sharp on this stuff.

However, after the key logger was found, I was led to a webpage that was allegedly Mozilla's. Who would write code that would make up such a lie? Kaspersky? I'm not smart enough to do such a thing. And no, I'm not really insinuating that Kaspersky's product did. The fact that there was an explanation coming from Mozilla (?) indicates that they were prepared for folks to find their key logger.

The webpage was an explanation as to why they included the key logger in their software. It was to improve the quality of their product.

This may be a common practice among software vendors, for all I know, and I'm just upset because it was pointed out to me. But the term "key logger" has bad connotations for a guy like me.

The easiest way to verify my story is to download System Mechanic 5 Pro demo version, load it up and run its Spybot function. This happened to me in either late Spring or Early Summer of this year. It is possible that they have since removed it, but I kind of doubt it, considering all the trouble they went to to put up the explanation page that I saw.

After I thought about it for a while, I became less upset with them and I still use Mozilla's products on a couple of other computers around the house.
