alphacam brackets

Hello, We have version 6 of alphacam. We want to know, is it possible to output the operations list at the start of programmes in brackets.

Thanks

Kate, In your post processor for the machine tool, navigate to this line (as shown below) and make sure it is set to a 0 value.

$540 Suppress Operations List, START and Comments in NC code (1 = yes, 0 = No)

We don't want to actually supress the operations list thou, becuase we still want to see it. (We like to keep everything in the same place). We just want it to appear in brackets like the rest of hte comments in the programme, otherwise, we have to go do it manually which is a real pain.

And no, I have very little skill with this programme as haven't played around with it much before...

Thanks

Kate, Your first question of " We want to know, is it possible to output the operations list at the start of programs in brackets." did not indicate whether you where seeing it currently or not. Therefore the initial reply was to show you how to activate the line item in your post and with the assumption that it was turned off.

Having said that, the same response still applies as shown in the example below. The $540 function not only allows you to see the OP list, but it also enters

*in Brackets* and before a tool change, the information you require regarding OP# and type of tool including diameter etc.

Operation List POST: HAAS

We also get the format that you show. But when we run it, the machine tries to read the operations list because its not in brackets, so we have to manually put brackets around it to prevent this. That is the bit that is tedious...
