Cam Complaint

One can make any system gouge. Just start playing with the settings or wrong toggle/tolerance - whatever. If you don't know your system/ config ect. why it does what it does when things are changed, expect undesirealble results. Those would also be considered idiosyncrasies?

well...I didn't gouge technically, It retracted. They all gouge, it's math. This stuff will do what you say, retract, retract or retract, but it can also leave points down at the gouge centerlines. Damn, seems like it knows a whole lot about these gouges? lol

And for the record, direct modeling, part of the syncronous technology stuff, only works on simple geometry in nx5 and 6. Seems limited usefulness. ****************

I'll second that motion! Motion carryied........ PEBKAC it is.

Captain BD...... good job, carry on.

So thats, Kernel Cliff : Mr Wizzard (always has an answer):-) Major Mikey: SmartCam king (can cnc any shape known to man) ;-) Lieutenant Vinny: NX CNC king. (still progamming that 128cav custom mold base):-( Captain BD: MasterCam king. (out to lunch(liquid) whilst MC X regens toolpaths) JB: mess hall drilling holes of course.

Doesn't anyone have one of those ITW yellow pocket trig tables? Or was that just a Chicago thing?

*******

Chicago thing.

I'm a moldmaker and all we use is tangent. I swear it's true. If you have a triangle, you tangent the angle, if you know the line needs to be bigger better see a real number or else hit 1/X. Works for everything there is....except the dekel cutter grinder. When making a cutter it's technically a sine, but we use tangent anyway, and up to 10 degrees the difference is so small no one notices.
