dc motor cable

what should be the cross section of conductor between rectifier panel and

450 kW 460 V DC Motor @ 1050 Amps. and would it be true to use 0.8 as the power factor of rectifier for AC side.

why would the PF be anything other then something close to unity? the harmonics is another issue, and there are all kinds of other issues you need to look at as well.

as for the cross sectional area of the conductors, this is dependant on many things such as how much voltage drop you want and how hot you allow the insulation to get.

1050A is a big set of cables. My guess is you will use multiple cables instead of a single conductor.

i'm thinking to compansate the energy at the main panel which is connected to transformator. so there would be a reactive power (generated from inductive and harmonic effects) between rectifier panel and main panel.

up to %10 enegy drop is acceptable and the distance is about 40 meters.

For DC side, using reduction factor as 0.75 (1050/0.75) , i'm thinking to select 3 (2x240 mm2) or 6 (1x240 mm2) as conductor. which one is more useful and economical?

One more qustion: There would be a set of 6 from this DC motors. 6x450 would be 2700 kW. in this condition i supposed to use 3500 kVA transformator if this would have been a AC system. but the motors are dc, does anything change?
