Authentic or hoax? Your answer is...

I found this very small image here using the Google.com image search.

Here's a link to bring up the exact same search results.

The image once belong on the BimP (Bricks In My Pocket) website, but appears to have been removed. So I have not been able to view the image at its true size or find any information about it.

The image name is disney_pirates_box.jpg and due to its size I cannot determine whether it is an authentic image or something someone has done themself. It appears to be the Red Beard Runner (or Pirate Battle Ship) in a new box.

Does anybody know anything about the authenticity of this image?

I'd say it's a hoax. The black pearl has shredded black sails.

Also, I've never seen Lego do a red Gaussian Blur Drop-shadow on any of their packaging - but it's exactly the type of thing a Photoshop amateur might do to make something look professional. There's also a lot of empty space to the right - just for the text. TLC tends to frame photos of their models better than that.

It could have a sample image for a product package that never made it to the marketplace. The Pirates of the Caribbean has been a feature at Disneyland theme parks since they first opened in the fifties. It does not necessarily have to have anything to do with the present movie.
