When I first got into computers a few years ago I decided to try this. I figured what the heck. It cost me $5.00 and a little time to post the message in a bunch of the usernet areas. The GOOD NEWS: I made a total of $2.00.

The BAD NEWS: I don't remember who my internet provider was at the time but I got kicked off line for 1 week with a stern warning that if it happened again, I'd get dumped permanetly. It seems this type of ad is considered a chain leter and a pyramide scheme and is illegal. Not only that, when I got back on line, I had over 500 hate emails waiting for me. People all over the planet sent me mail. Some politely explained the situation to me but most just called me a scum sucking slimeball, (and worse.) I definetly learned my lesson. Now, when I see one of these ads, I almost feel sorry for the poor shmuck because I know what they're in for.

Unfortunately the average Usenet spammer is not as easily traced nor as easily inconvenienced as you were. They change NNTP servers and service providers like most people change their socks.
