Req: help in removing core from Abus 80/45 padlock

I've got a bunch of new in box Abus 80/45 padlocks. Haven't keyed one in years. Can't remember how to pull the core. Any assistance appreciated! Thanks.

Appreciate the response. The 83/45 has the screw, the 80/45 doesn't. There is a pin/spring horizontally placed on the top of the cylinder but depressing the pin doesn't seem to do anything. Hmm :(

If memory serves, you have to open the padlock, swing the shackle away.

Remove the key

Insert a "key extractor" and pull the keyhole outwards. While simultaneously depressing the pin that shows int he shackle hole.

Might be able to pull on the key while depressing the pin.

I can't remember if springs and pins go flying every where.

Thanks for the answer- I also go a little more detailed one from Abus..

To remove the cylinder:

  1. open the padlock
  2. look into the padlock where the shackle came out
  3. push the retainer pin in and then pull or tap the cylinder out of the padlock body

The shackle will release when the cylinder is removed.

Thanks for your help!
