Can anyone tell me what the effects of the electroless nickel plating processes are on a annaled 1018 cold rolled steel tooling part?
The part is a flat plate with fine knurls on it(.4mm pitch).
Trying to figure out if damage to the knurling happened in the plating process or in handling by the plater.
Damage consists of a very small blemish on the knurls in one specific spot. The spot appears to be melted.
