55 Gallon Drums

I bought a drum of methanol and it came in a plastic drum. Since this should last me for a while and I want to keep water out of the methanol, I want to make a vent using desiccant to dehumidify the air that enters the drum. Anyone know what the standard fittings are for plastic drums? (Same as steel drums?)

Thanks

Usually the same but sometimes one side has a different style threads. If it has two big holes one will be NPT and the other may be some sort of buttress thread

A lot of the plastic barrel plugs already have a knock out to enable existing 3/4 or 1" threads.

If its the same size and structure as a steel drum..simply screw in the lids and no water will get in.
