Aluminum / TIG Welding (SquareWave?)

Oct 31, 2003 1 Replies

Am in the market for an AC/DC TIG welder for welding aluminum. . .

opinions on Square / Pulsed wave machines? does it really make that big of a difference compared to plain old AC?

i've seen a few inverter-type machines where one can control the complete (almost) profile of the wave.. frequency, dutycycle, square, triangle, etc

are these significantly better? or will a basic AC machine do the same job?

thanks

All currently manufactured AC capable TIG welders use a square wave form.

Yes

They work.
