Anyone doing any metalwork?

--Have a pal visiting the shop this weekend so made good progress on a project that required 2 pair of hands to complete: a one-legged 'recliner'; photos when I get it painted..

Soooooooooooo, Ed,

How many one-legged folks you gonna sell those things to?

Thanks! I hope not to need them, but it is good to know about them.

Enjoy, DoN.

Worked until midnight thirty on the last of the horizontal laterals that will give my 11' roof sheets three points of attachment. Quite a feat, doing it myself. Moving chicken boards, moving the welder, and all ancillary stuff. 18 6'+- laterals in less than 180 minutes. Why is it I can do this stuff faster than I can instruct newbie helpers to do the same work?

Felt like a good workout, moving 6' actual 2" thick 8' two bys, up and down the ladder about 100 times.

Probably pay for it dearly tomorrow. But at least I will be ready to paint tomorrow, and start decking. Up to 1,200 lf 1.5 tubing now, and will need another 300 or so to finish the doors. Hard part is to find matching Fabral sheeting for doors and sloping fill in pieces. All in all, though, I'm happy as a pig in a mud bank.

Then there's the feed racks for the chop saw, the 3 x 3 frame for the heavy lift, the concrete floor, the base for the bender, and lots of other goodies. One thing at a time.

This working from 8 pm to 1 am is just plain cool. 5 AM until about ten is good, too, but I just do that when I wake up in a mood to jump out of bed. Otherwise, I lay there until I am ready to get up for my large mug of Starbucks extra strong coffee.

I really think i function better on a 48 hour clock. I get my second wind about 24 hours in.

You're welcome. There are some good techs there, some amateurs and the usual trolls.
