Anyone Have a Used Multiple Spindle Head

Customer looking for a two or three spindle head to work with a hand drill (!)

Anyone have one?

I can build this customer one, but it's beyond their budget...

Uh! Do you suggest doing that, Joe? Have you ever tried it?

LOL... Well, it can be done. I've done it... But not with a large multiple spindle head, that's for sure...

There are a few manufacturers who make smaller, "cheap" heads that will go on a hand drill. Mostly for hinge patterns, lockset (small hole) patterns, etc. The one I sold was for a Jacuzzi jet hole with locator pilot. We reversed rotation on the small drill to save weight. :)

Anyhow... I guess I was hoping to run across someone who had an old useless junker lying around.

...You don't have an adapter for a Delta 17-965 for a Commander, do you? That's another little project of mine.

No and yes...

No, I don't suggest doing it normally, but this customer is drilling "green" pottery. i.e. wet clay and very small holes prior to firing. Not a difficult job at all.

Yes, I have done it before. You need a secondary handle to keep the head from twisting with the "chuck" as it is basically a small gear box with one input and two outputs... We permanently mount a good strong secondary handhold on the outside of the head with plenty of leverage to stop the hand drill if necessary.

Not the best solution, but sometimes there is no other solution for a process.
