Casting Ruger 10/22 receiver

How hard would it be to make an aluminum casting for a Ruger 10/22? Once it is cast, I can machine it and finish it out. I'm guessing it would be about like finishing one of those AR-15 receivers. Any info would be appreciated!

I'm wondering why you'd want to start with a casting if you were doing a one-off. I doubt that a billet would cost more than $20.

Twer me I'd skip the casting and just scrape one out of bar stock. Which gives me an idea that I shouldn't have. Got too many projects now, but I would like to have a cuatom 10/22 mag...............

I'll get on that bandwagon. Why screw around with a possibly questionable casting? Get a hunk of 7075 and produce some chips. Look Ma, no pits, no sand, no voids.
