I would like to make a headstock center for my SB 10L but lacking a taperattachment, I don't think I can get the taper right without off-setting thecenters and working between centers. Would it make sense to grind a taper ona piece of bar stock held in a collet and use that as a center?

Sure, why not. But then again, you could simply buy a center that has astraight shank that will fit your collet.

Center held in 5C collet?

You can fix the display of decimal places on the command line-in response to a 'distance' command, for example-in the 'units' dialog. To change the display of an individual dimension use 'properties'. To create a new dimension style with the desired format use 'dimstyle'.

Hey Ned,

Thanks again for that too. I did go back and reset the DIMADEC to 8, and got the "funny" but CORRECT angle. I was wrong. Hate that.
