compressor question_ mounting?

I wouldn't attach it to the floor, I imagine stress problems from vibration. I like the wood mounts; how close is the welding ops? Give the wood a coat or two of latex paint.

My compressor is lag-bolted to a pair of short wood 4x4's in turn bolted into concrete. Provides some vibration isolation but the main reason was to elevate the bottom to make it easier to get to the tank drain. Flat on the floor there wasn't enough room to put a good ball valve in the bottom of the tank and an elbow below the valve.

As for the hose and quick coupling, fine, but keep in mind a 1/4" coupling is a big flow restrictor, may affect what you can run downstream. I use a stainless braid covered 1/2" hose with crimped 3/4" thread fittings, meant for connecting a water heater.

The other thing I was thinking is a rubber hose from the pump might not take the heat and might be a restriction.

i ended up mounting the compressor to 4x4's with lags and didn't use the quick disconnect (flow restriction, good call!). I didn't mount the 4x4 pallet to the concrete, it seems very stable and i would really have a hell of a time knocking it over. thanks, walt
