I'd post pictures of my shop buildings, but I can't get in them right now. The guys on another newsgroup used ot have a 'messy workbench contest' a couple times a year. I slipped in a photo of a new bench I was building and they got mad because it was empty. Now, I can't find it. (The bench) :(

Please don't bail out deadbeats like gummer, it only encourages them. For example, notice that in this case, where gummy ought to have been mortified about his poor showing in the transaction, he instead went out of his way to try to smear John. That kind of behavior should never be rewarded. If you want to get involved, then tell gummer to make good on his promise to pick up the grinder, and shut up about until he does. Either that or tell him to consider the loss of his grinder a deserved and cheap fine for a single incident of BS artistry.

No...hum...I think that was a Big Joe walking forklift I sold him. I let him inspect it fully, discussed everything that was wrong with it and left it with him for a period of time before he payed me . As I recall. Its a bit foggy. As I recall..the drive gear box was on the fritz or something, but he stated that he didnt mind pushing it around like a self lifting hand truck and had taken out a drive gear so it pushed around easily.

At any time up to the point he offered up money and I accepted it, he could have simply said..sorry..too rough for me or no thanks. Granted I needed money, but there was no force on him to purchase it.

I actually like the man. Shrug. If I didnt, Id never have gotten him the drill press table, brought it to him, (Unloaded with the Big Joe as I recall) never have loaned him $250 worth of milwaukee tools and brought it to him, out of my own pocket. His place isnt easy to find, nor is it anywhere close to my service range. Shrug. Probably 60-80 miles out of the way.

I think he also got a nice granite surface plate from me as well...though thats fuzzy as hell too.

Id just like to have my grinder back if he is done with it.

LOL I wrote you a check, sight unseen, when you unloaded it and took off. That was the entire purpose of this purchase - to get $1,000.00 into your pocket. It was also the deal we made.

LOL You and Skulsky split the purchase price. You delivered it because I didn't want it otherwise and there was a hefty premium paid. Dana offered me the thing for $75.00 if I wanted to take it with me. You, OTOH, got $200.00. He thought I was nuts.

I'm six miles from Skulsky - whom you regularly deal with. Twelve or so From Leigh.

Gunner's fuzzy memory seems to have let slip another pertinent fact. I also picked up a hydraulic lift cart at the same time. The seals were shot and I knew it but didn't care. I'll rebuild the thing one day. What I didn't expect was the 1/2" chain and lock that was around the works. Gunner didn't have the key (hmmmmmmmmm.) so the lock needed to be cut off. Not having his bolt cutters with him at the time, he said he'd come by at some future date and cut the lock off AND PICK UP HIS GRINDER.

The lock and grinder are both in the same place they were when he left for home. I'm not especially unhappy with anything I purchased. I didn't really expect much and would never have had said a word. Calling me a thief changed that tune. There are few things I can't abide in a person but stealing is one of them. Falsely and knowingly accusing someone of this sort of thing is another. In fact, that's actionable.
